Feeling sluggish? The human brain uses 20% of our daily energy intake. As the highest energy-consuming organ in our body, the connection between food and mood is clear. Our diet impacts not only our physical health but also our mental wellbeing.Poor nutrition can lead to tiredness, poor concentration, and a reduced immune system, while healthy eating can boost mood and energy levels.Healthy eating is definitely a win for individuals as well as your workforce! However, not everyone has control over their dietary habits.A lack of time or the rising cost of groceries can easily lead to someone reaching for convenient comfort food over a more nourishing choice.Luckily, as a leader, there are many ways you can support your team and make healthy choices easier:1️⃣ Model healthy habits: Don’t skip meals or eat at your desk.2️⃣ Offer healthy options: Offer fresh fruit and healthier snacks in the office.3️⃣ Celebrate wisely: Opt for less processed foods during team events.Learn more in about how food affects your mood on the APM website:https://lnkd.in/ggABBDcK#WorkplaceWellbeing #EnablingBetterLives

Creating a consistent exercise routine is something many of us struggle with, especially when we're juggling work, school drop-offs and family time. Our lives are busier than ever! It's all too easy to de-prioritise exercise when we have a hectic schedule. But you don't need to spend hours at the gym.Even with a hectic schedule, we can still find ways to add a little extra movement to our day... and experience the boost to our physical and mental health that comes with it.Here are some tips from the Victorian Government Department of Health:📅 Look at your diary at the start of your day or the week to plan ahead.⏳ Think small. Consider shorter timed sets of exercise a few times a day, every day, instead of longer periods.🚶 Get off the bus or train one stop earlier or take the stairs.Check out the full article for more suggestions to make keeping active a little easier: https://bit.ly/3J24Us9#Exercise #Wellbeing #ActiveLifestyle

Disability inclusion is essential for our well being at work.As part of the APM Group, FBG is supporting International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) on 3 December.Injury, illness and disability can be visible and non-visible, and the truth is it can affect anyone at any time.Which makes inclusion in the workplace good for your people and your business in seen and unseen ways.Even for forward-thinking businesses, there will be cause for reflection along the way. “It’s more than just how physically accessible your workplace is a lot of us have to look internally at what our values, attitudes and behaviours look like, how we approach and use language around people with disability” Paralympian and APM Ambassador Ellie Cole said.
